The McGuire Ranch was started in 1976 by my Grandfather Ernest McGuire who started raising a few Quarter Horses for Pleasure, Trail Parades. He raised a home grown stallion named Wondersbluesaber, who sadly passed away in 2002 at age 27.
As a child I spent all my time on the ranch he owned and helped with the horses and the chores. This peaked my interest in the veterinarian aspect of dealing with horses. After High School I went to Colorado State University and started on the road to becoming a Veterinarian. Going to school I found another aspect of horses that peaked my interest more than vet school. I decided to travel the path to reproduction, learning both cattle and horse reproduction. I finished up my Bachelors degree in 1997 and moved back to California to take over the ranch my Grandfather had started in 1976. I have been updating my lab and facilities along with working closely with my veterinarian(s) to stay up to date on the current reproductive techniques and technology currently out and on the market. I do all my own  in house cultures, ultrasounds, infusions, Artificial inseminations and collections of semen and embryos along with freezing semen. I do consult with my vet on any problems or concerns owners have with their mares and pregnancies and twins.
I am currently standing 4 stallions at my facility with 6 other stallions that come in to be collected. Smokem Little Dude, a Creme Grulla stallion with all the dun factor points. He is triple registered AQHA, IBHA & 87% NFQHA. He has 4 generations of grulla in his pedigree and has so far been a 100% dun factor producer in 3 foal crops, his oldest foals are 3 yr olds in 2007. Tall Tale Investment is starting his 2nd year standing with us. He is from a long line of Western Pleasure producers and Point Earners. He was unshown due to injury. We have a great foal crop coming in 2007 by him.  Kids TQ is in his 2 nd year standing with us. With limited showing he was Top Ten in 3 yr old Open Halter Stallions through Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Association and his first foals will be yearlings in 2007. He is so far a 100% color producer and we have a great foal crop coming from him in 2007.  Silk Smooth is the newest addition to our stallions but he is a veteran in the producing colts department with 18 foal crops on the ground silk has been a great producers of All around horses along with some performers as well. He is a 52% bay producer and producer correct foals to do any discipline. We hope for many more years to come with this veteran stallion.
I breed on a small scale with only 13 broodmares and I lease a few more every year. We have a brand new 36 X 72 foot custom barn with a 36x 24 foot breeding shed attached with a fully updated AI and Shipped semen lab. In 2005 we updated all of our fences to non climb parameter horse fence and pastures with 1 1/2 wide electric tape with vinyl sleeve fencing.  We also have 12x12, 12x24 pipe pens and 120x 240 foot irrigated sheltered pastures. We also just built new stallion stalls 12 X 20 and are now a full 24 hour security with automatic gate and video cameras. We can accommodate any mare & foal situation that you may need. We are currently offering AI and Shipped semen on our stallions and offer services to outside stallions as well as phantom training and freezing along with foaling out mares and halter breaking and imprinting new foals. We also offer embryo transfer. Thank you for visiting my website and I look forward to hearing from you and doing business in the future.
