About Us

The McGuire Ranch was started in 1976 by my Grandfather Ernest McGuire who started raising a few Quarter Horses for Pleasure, Trail Parades. He raised a home grown stallion named Wondersbluesaber, who sadly just passed away in 2002 at age 27.
As a child I spent all my time on the ranch he owned and helped with the horses and the chores. This peaked my interest in the veterinarian aspect of dealing with horses. After High School I went to Colorado State University and started on the road to becoming a Veterinarian. Going to school I found another aspect of horses that peaked my interest more than vet school. I decided to travel the path to reproduction, learning both cattle and horse reproduction. I finished up my Bachelors degree in 1997 and moved back to California to take over the ranch my Grandfather had started in 1976. I have been updating and I work closely with my veterinarian to stay up to date on the current reproductive techniques and technology currently out and on the market. I do all my own in house cultures, ultrasounds, infusions, Artificial inseminations and collections of semen and embryosfor fresh and Frozen preparation.I also foal out mares with 24 hour monitoring I deal with a lot of problem bredding mares and high risk foaling mares. With 100% sucess on live foals. I do consult with my vet and keep him on speed dial during foaling and breeding season and on many occasions have had to use the hospital at Loomis Basin for Neonatal foals. We have access to vets 24 hours a day for any problems or concerns owners have with their mares.
I am currently standing 4 stallions at my facility with 10 other stallions that come in to be collected. My New stallion is Tall Tale Investment a Bay son of Fairly Tall Tale out of a Point earning mare Triple Ur Investment, this is a super nice stallion with surpurb bloodlines but unfortunaley was injured as a weanling ending his show career. He has 4 foals on the ground to date and they are showing great potential. In 2007 we will have a nice selection of foals to prove this very nice stallion. We are also standing Smokem Little Dude, a Creme Grulla stallion with all the dun factor points. He is triple registered AQHA, IBHA & 87% NFQHA. He has 4 generations of grulla in his pedigree and with 3 foal crops is producing 100% color and black factor. And he is super sweet with a huge hip and very athletic unfortunately while in training for working cow horse in 2006 he sustained a crippling injury and will not longer be able to be shown. I was hopping for a full recovery but after a 1 1/2 years he is still unsound. But his foals will go on to show.  We also stand and up and coming star named Kids TQ a red dun son of the TQ Kid out of a double bred Do Do Chick mare. In his first year of showing Kid earned PCQHA Champion Open 3 yr old stallion and 3rd in Amatuer 2 yr and over stallions. Plus numerous Open and Amatuer Champion titles. He is now starting his riding career and has his first foals in 2006. So far 100% color producer we are expecting a great foal crop in 2007. I also stand a great Chestnut stallion named Red O'toole I have been collecting Red his whole breeding career and we are working on his 4th foal crop. He is a little horse standing 14.1h but an own son of Mo Hickory Pepsan by Docs Hickory out of an granddaughter of Doc O lena. Red has earaned $3500 NCHA money and has an COA along with numerous buckles and title in Amatuer and Youth divisions. His first foals are 3 years old and very athletic as well a natural cow ability. Great shipped semen and He is going back to the cutting pen in 2007 with a youth aboard just a 10 yr we call him the good ole babysiter. o for 2003. .
